5D4N OUTDOOR ADVENTURE EXPEDITION TO PAHANG.

It was great afterall and the days seems to be short.Sharifah(leader),Farizah,Diyana,Ishaq,Iyliaq and Jeremy were assinged to be in one group.KAYAKERS! :)

Day 1, Journey to Jerantut was long and we spent most of our time in the train, relaxing. We reached to our destination at 2am sharp and straight away we walked to nearby Hotel Sri Kim Yen, for us to get a rest before we started our activties in the morning

Day2, We had our breakfast at nearby coffeshop in the morning. We ate roti prata with egg and nasi lemak. After everything is done, we packed up and at 0730am, boarded a local school bus for travel to Gua Kota Gelanggi. We arrived at camp site, Gua Kota Gelanggi Cave Complex for orientation and outdoor safety practices briefing. At 0900am, commence concurrent outdoor training briefing and demonstration, safety practices. Familiarization with climbing gears and proper use. Hike up to abseil site. Final safety checks before we abseil off with top belay and land at cave floor safely. Each of us are supposed to wear one glove for safety. Abseil 70m down cave. It is scary and imagine yourself not well prepared and you fell. Whoa! Unluckily,Sharifah got rope burnt and injured her right arm. It was very painful. She lose control of her left hand and on that point of time, she was hanging in the air wanting to reach the land. She hold the rope tightly using her right hand and she somehow let go off the left hand with glove. She abseil down very fast and she could feel her hand burning against the rope. It was fantastic! End up, she land at the cave, sitting down and smile and laugh :) She was then sent to the first aider and were told to wash her injured hand. She was told to apply an alcoholic wipes.

First try : She, Renfred and Farizah sat in the middle of the carpark. She took 1piece of alcohol thingy and tried to wipe off the injury part slowly. Just a tab of it, she screamed aloud till the workers at the side of the carpark looked at her. Painful!

Second try : We transfer ourself and sat at the staircase where we placed all of our bags down there. Renfred took out the alcohol and wanted to do it for me in three or four seconds. He promised me that. But still, she was so stuborn that she said," It's ok. I can do it myself." As time passes, alot of alcohol wasted, Renfred pissed off with me, Firuz Iyliaq Shaiful Amirah and Aizad came down to look at her, Iyliaq and Shaiful happily catches a big butterfly and Aizad video cam it, she still said to Renfred, 'wait, I can do it myself.' Renfred kept saying to her to let him heal her injury as it only took three to four seconds then he will put cream and bandage her hand. Guess what? She still refused on letting him do it. Farizah hold her left hand, Firuz hold my shoulder and Iyliaq hold both of my leg. Aizad happily video cam the situation.

Third try : She's tired of crying and wanted everything to end fast, finally she let Renfred heal it. Farizah Firuz and Iyliaq start to hold me tightly as they know that she will struggle. And yes, she did struggle. She screamed and struggled till she hit Farizah twice. Oops! Renfred spread cream at her injury and bandage her right hand. It took 1 hour 30 minutes, just to heal her injury. After everything done, we proceed to our campsite, took pictures, settle up and prepare for next activities. Adventure Caving. We meet up with local guide and explore Gua Kepala Gajah (Elephant Head), Angin (Wind) and Sanding (Marriage). It was awesome! Everything, natural. We need to collect woods for our campfire while on the way back to our campsite. Campfire ! Light up the Bonfire. We sang, we dance happily. All are so hyper especially Farizah. 1 night camp out at Cave Chamber.

Our reflection on the Pahang trip

Farizah :’ First thing first, I would like to thank Mr John for bringing the EXCO to this trip again eventhough we have to pay full amount for the trip. This trip was much more challenging compared to last year trip that we went. But overall, I still prefer the last year activities and the bonding that we had together at Jeram Besu. In this trip, I finally found both my weaknesses and also strengths and we did learn a lot of things during the trip. We make new friends and we bond really well at that point of time. Last but not least, Firman, u did a great job man in handling these bunch of people. And to the EXCOS,Thumbs up, dude!. IT WAS AWESOME!!!! :))’

Sharifah:’ I’ve been appointed as a group leader and I’ve learnt new things. Example, during debrief time. Firman shared with us his experience of becoming a leader and how he’s being groomed. Being a leader is not that easy as it takes a lot of courage to speak up and a long time of becoming one. We need to face challenges and we can’t avoid it. Therefore, we must always be patient at all times. All thanks to Firman for willing to taught and share with us about leadership skills. I will learnt and contribute the skills to my friend and family. This trip was splendid! The activities are challenging especially abseiling 70m down the cave. It was scary as it is my first time to abseil that high. I somehow overcome my fears on height and I am looking forward for the high elements but it takes time for me. Within the 5days of the trip, I didn’t mingle around that much with others but I’ve met new friends. I could feel the closeness and bonding within each of us. All of us communicated well, worked as a team and we treated all fairly. We care for each other like brother and sister, like a big family. I would like to thank Mr John and the exco for choosing and giving me a chance to be a leader and be part of this trip. I really appreciate it. To Mr John, I really enjoyed this trip and of course this trip will be memorable for me. A very GREAT JOB and WELL DONE to the teachers in-charge of this trip and the exco. Without all of you planning this trip well, it won’t be happening. I am looking forward for other trip that is much more challenging and memorable for all of us next year. May we stay close together and not be apart. 3 cheers, 3 cheers, 3 cheers to OAC. Hiphip Hooray! Hiphip Hooray! :D
Diyana: ’This trip had made me to be more open and make new friends.Eversince the trip,i started to mingle around with people.I've become more outspoken and sometimes in class,im the lound one!.This has been an eye-opener trip to me.Lastly,i would like to thank Mr John Soh for allowing me to join in with this group. It really helps me alot in terms of finding my strenght and also weaknesses. To the EXCOS,its really a tough job for them to handle this trip especially Firman.Without them,i guess this trip will not be successful.GOOD JOB,guys!. :))

Ishaq : ‘It was my first overseas trip in my life under school’s adventure trip. Not forgetting Mr John and thanking him for selecting me to be a part of this absolutely fantastic trip. Also I’ve learnt and gained new experienced in that 5 days of trip. I’ve managed to make new friends and mingled around with them and also gaining even closer bonding with them which makes me feel we are like a one big sweet family which overcomes weal and woes in that trip. Of all obstacles, I love abseiling the most as it was my first time abseiling down 70 meters which overcome one of my strongest weakness. Also, overcoming my strength which boost my self-esteem. Last but not least a big thank to Firman whom had showed his strong essential qualities. All I can say is two thumbs up for this trip and will be looking forward to go again, C H E E R S M A N G S!’

Iyliaq:’I would like to thank Mr John for bringing me again for this trip eventhough I backed out and joined in at the very last minute. This trip was really an enjoyable trip whereby you make new friends and it really bond us really well. But,for me,I still prefer last year trip because last year the activities was much more interesting than this year.Take flying fox for example, last year we can do the ‘superman’ stun while flying but this year we are only allow to do the normal position. This trip was much more challenging and our accommodation was not at one place instead we moved about.Lastly,Firman did a great job being the camp commandant as I know it must be hard for him to lead a large number of people in other country. To the other EXCOS,GREAT JOB!.

Jeremy:’well this is my first time going to pahang, and i really enjoy myself there, and i have learn a lot of things, i would really thank those people who made this trip possible. tks guys :)
